Women’s obligation to maintain their appearance in compliance to the media and society’s standards of beauty and hygiene. One example is the removal of unflattering and unwanted body hair that many consider to be nasty. Oh Miss-Be-Shaved puts the removal of body hair on the forefront and allows viewers to see the artist’s shaving process, something a majority of women can relate to; therefore, openly starting the conversation to such a taboo subject that most shy away from and do not dare discuss with others publicly. It poses the question, why do we shave? Do we shave for the sake of vanity or cleanliness? Is it because we want to or have to? Whatever your reason may be, it’s your prerogative.
